The event, dedicated to the modern diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, began with a meeting of national representatives and postgraduate training courses (in laboratory and imaging techniques, in innovations in dietetics and nutrition, in surgical and oncological risk management, etc.). In the following days, the event lasted 4 days with updates on research obtained over the past year and presentations of updated protocols.
At this congress, the results of scientific research on the topic “Genetic polymorphism of lactose intolerance in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases” were presented, conducted under the leadership of Gulustan Babayeva, associate professor of the Department of Therapy of ASATID named after A. Aliyev representing our country. This presentation was prepared by doctoral student of the department Rashad Hasanov (German Hospital, Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy), resident physician Aychin Hasanova, and Umud Mahmudov, Vice-Chairman of the Azerbaijan Society of Gastroenterology and Invasive Endoscopy (Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy of the Modern Hospital), included to the Azerbaijani working group, was listened to with great interest.
